Jacarandas

The beautiful purple/lavender flowers we've been seeing are called Jacarandas. They are abundant in the Brisbane area. Since it is Spring here now, they are in full bloom. The Jacarandas are not unique to Australia. They are also found in South America, Africa, and parts of southern Florida. They are everywhere in and around Brisbane and are absolutely spectacular!
